At least ten persons were injured in Ashmuji, village of Kulgam district in south Kashmir on Sunday after government forces used force to disperse the people who wanted to hold a freedom rally in the area.
Reportedly men in uniform first set ablaze the Shamyana erected for the rally and then started beating whosoever came in their way.
“Police and forces beat even women, dragged elders and ransacked dozens of houses,” a resident of Ashmuji alleged over phone.
He said that many villagers were also arrested during clashes which erupted after men in uniform used force against people.
