“They (people) have apprehensions because anything can be expected from the desperate ruling regime to bring back so called “peace and normalcy” in the valley, crush the people’s revolt and keep them subjugated,” said a spokesman.
Hurriyat (M) on Monday asked the government to come clean on the arrest of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and his subsequent confinement at Cheshma Shahi sub jail.
“If, according to the Govt, he (Mirwaiz) is a ” threat to law and order ” he has been so for the last 49 days when he was put under house arrest and no one was allowed to meet him and most of his communication facilities snapped or as he is frequently put under house arrest especially on Fridays to prevent him from going to Jamia mosque.”
He said that people wanted to know the reason behind his detention “at this time.”
“They (people) have apprehensions because anything can be expected from the desperate ruling regime to bring back so called “peace and normalcy” in the valley, crush the people’s revolt and keep them subjugated,” he said.
The spokesman said that Mirwaiz has asked the people to follow the joint resistance leadership programs in letter and spirit and be “vigilant of agents and rumour mongers.”
