The incarcerated leaders of Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) are mulling to start an agitation against the Kashmir government, sources said on Sunday.
Eight EJAC leaders including their President Qayoom Wani and General Secretary Farooq Ahmad Trali on last Monday were arrested from Press Colony Srinagar. However, they were soon shifted to sub-jail Baramulla from police station Kothi Bagh, Srinagar. The leaders were protesting against the civilian killing in Kashmir.
Authorities have also refused to grant bail to EJAC leaders. EJAC sources said that concerned officers are under pressure from higher officials.
They said their leaders are being detained “with hardened criminals” to break their resolve. This vendetta is being done to cow down other employees from protesting against the government.
Kashmir is continuously witnessing violent clashes between people and government forces since the killing of Commander Burhan Wani only July 08 in Kokernag.
