Early morning, men armed with guns fired shots at constable Khurshid Ahmad Ganai (Belt no 299/PL), son of Abdul Aziz, outside his house in Quil in the volatile southern district, official sources said.
Ganai, who was on way to the district police lines Pulwom, sustained critical injuries in the attack. He was removed to sub district hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
