Says Pakistan our political, moral and diplomatic supporter
Reiterating his appeal to people to continue the peaceful protests and follow the programme issued by the resistance leadership in letter and spirit, the incarcerated chairman of Hurriyat (G) senior leader Shabir Ahmad Shah today said sacrifices are inevitable for the achievement of a “great cause”.
In a statement issued, Shah termed it “misleading” the remarks of Mehbooba Mufti in New Delhi wherein she blamed Pakistan for “instigating unrest” in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Pakistan is an important stakeholder of the Kashmir dispute and as such is expressing its viewpoint in this regard. And it should be clear to everyone that current uprising isn’t instigated by anyone but is indigenous. One shouldn’t make false claims in order to cover up his/her shortcomings,” Shah said.
Shah said Mehbooba before raising fingers on the political understanding of the people of Jammu Kashmir should bear in mind that no one receives bullets at anyone’s behest.
“We harbour own emotions and sentiments, however, no one should get disturbed over the political, moral, and diplomatic support to us by Pakistan,” he said.
Shah expressed satisfaction over the steadfastness of people of Jammu Kashmir despite the reign of state-sponsored oppression being unleashed upon them.
“The whole State is burning but people are exhibiting utmost patience and steadfastness. This is satisfactory,” he said.
Reacting against the reports of further arrests and slapping of PSAs on youth, Shah said such tactics of suppression won’t break our resolve but will give impetus to our pro-freedom sentiments. “Even if the whole population of J&K is caged, we will still demand Azadi. This nation has rendered invaluable sacrifices. Now, Azadi slogans are reverberating from nook and corner of the State,” he said.
Hailing the role of pro-freedom political parties, trade union leaders, and religious parties during the ongoing anti-India uprising, Shah said by remaining sincere with the freedom movement, we will achieve the goal for which we have rendered invaluable sacrifices since last 7 decades.
“We appreciate the role played by religious bodies and trade and employees fraternity. They have set an example for the general public of the State. Our religious leaders, scholars and preachers have a big role to play and we hope they would fulfil their obligations,” he said and strongly condemned the arrest of EJAC leaders.
Condemning the “state-sponsored oppression” in Pulwama, Shah said “it reminds one of the Jalianwala Bagh massacre”. He expressed grief over the martyrdom of a teenager Amir Ali Gul who was killed by Indian forces saying the “oppressors will be answerable to the crimes committed by them”.
