At least 13 persons were injured when army and policemen fired bullets and pellets on protestors in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
The incident took place in Vihil, Nowgam area of Shopian and later people were chased up to Kanjiullar village.
Army and SOG men were patrolling the area when locals raised pro-freedom and anti-India slogans.
Local sources said that army and SOG men chased people up to the Kanjiullar village and fired bullets and pellets on them amid stone pelting from the protesters.
Hospital sources said that 3 injured have been shifted to SKIMS, Soura while as 7 injured were being treated at Vihil hospital.
They said three injured were still at district hospital Shopian. They have pellet injuries in their eyes and are likely to be shifted to Srinagar.
