Kashmiri’s staying in Southern Indian state Karnatka Thursday alleged that right wing activists from Akhil Bhartiya Vidya Parishad have been harassing them and are instigating common people of state against the students and businessmen from Kashmir.
“We are feeling insecure here. A few days back some ABVP activists backed by RSS and BJP threatened a Kashmiri of dire consequences at Sanjay Nagar. The irony is that police is scared of these activists,” a Kashmiri businessman from Bengaluru India told news agency CNS.
He said that ever since the start of agitation in Kashmir, the ABVP activists openly instigate people of the state against Kashmiri citizens. “These activists room freely and they harass anyone who hails from Kashmir. The people from Kashmir are not safe here,” he said.
“Some leaders from Congress party asked us to contact them in case of any untoward incident, but how these leaders can save us from these fanatics when even police is hesitant to take action against them,” he said.
Pertinently, students from Kashmir taking training under UDAN scheme in Gurgoan Haryana have also accused police and locals of harassment.
