Critically Injured Qazigund Youth Being Operated Upon In SKIMS, say Police

One youth was critically injured when forces used live bullets and tear gas shells in South Kashmir’s Qazigund area.
Police sources said that people assembled at main Qazigund chowk early today when debris of stones and cartridges was being cleared from the road. “There were clashes last evening in the area,” sources said.
Police sources identified the injured youth as Irfan Ahmad, a local resident of Qazigund.

Earlier, one more youth as rushed to SKIMS who has been injured due to pellets and is under treatment in SKIMS.
Police sources said that the youth was hit by a tear gas shell in his head. However, a newspaper report quoting doctors at the Emergency and Trauma hospital Qazigund said that one Mushtaq Ahmad Shah had suffered a bullet injury in the head and pellet injury in neck.
