Amarnath Yatri Dies of Heart Attack Near Cave

A Yatri from Madhya Pradesh (MP) died due to cardiac arrest near the cave shrine of Amarnath in South Kashmir, taking the toll to 15 since the commencement of the 48-day-long pilgrimage from July 2.

An Amarnath Yatra official said that a 65-year-old pilgrim, identified as Mohan Lal, resident of Ujjain, MP, suffered a massive cardiac arrest near the cave shrine.

He was immediately rushed to nearby medical camp where he was declared brought dead.

With this, a total of 13 pilgrims, 12 of them due to cardiac arrest and one in a road accident, have died.

 A CRPF man on duty also died due to heart attack while a local driver Bilal Ahmad died in a road accident while carrying pilgrims from Srinagar to Jammu.
