Jammu airport to be expanded,air fare to Leh to be reduced, night flights to be started soon in the State

Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today requested the Union Minister of State for Culture and Civil Aviation, Dr. Mahesh Sharma to expedite Jammu Airport expansion and also explore the ways of having a new state of art Airport for Jammu.

The Deputy Chief Minister was interacting with the Union Minister at Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh.

The Deputy Chief Minister also discussed the possibility of having night flights between Jammu and Srinagar maintaining that the same would also promote tourism besides improving connectivity between the two divisions of the State. He also projected the issue of high fares of flights operating to Leh and asked the Union Minister to intervene and make the tickets less priced. This would naturally increase the flow of tourists to Ladakh region besides providing succor to Ladakh students.

The Union Minister assured Dr. Singh that he would look into the issues projected by him and also redress them in a time bound manner.
