One arrested for allegedly setting fire in forest area

REASI: Police on Wednesday arrested a person who was allegedly indulging in setting forest area on fire at Reasi outskirts.

According to a report, DFO Reasi intimated to SSP Reasi that the Range Officer Thakrakote has informed that during operations in Comptt. No.30/Thakrakote Range near Mora Berrigalla Chandi Forest field staff observed that somebody setting fire in forest area but because of tough terrain and distance, staff was unable to catch the offender.

On further investigation they came to know that one Abdul Rashid son of Mohd Hussain resident of Mora Berigalla might have indulged in setting fire in forest area i.e, Thanpal, Raskeen etc. and requested for his apprehension for enquiry. On this, a police team headed by Inspector Arvind Sambyal, SHO Police Station Arnas swung into action and after great efforts, the above mentioned suspect was apprehended and handed over to Forest Department Reasi for further enquiry.
