London: The UK officials on Friday said that a team of war crime experts will be sent to Ukraine to help in investigation of “atrocities” by Russian troops. CNN quoted the Foreign Office as saying that the team will be reaching Poland next week to meet the Ukrainian government, international partners, NGOs and refugees. The team including experts in conflict related sexual violence, will be gathering evidence to prosecute Russian war crimes. UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will be traveling to the Hague on Friday to meet International Criminal Court (ICC) President, Judge Piotr Hofmanski. She said, “Russia has brought barbarity to Ukraine and committed vile atrocities, including against women. “British expertise will help uncover the truth and hold Putin’s regime to account for its actions. Justice will be done.” UNI RNJ
