Anchor: With dreams in her eyes, a Class 7 student from Srinagar has reached Imphal to represent her state in the U-14 category (Taekwondo) for the upcoming 64th National School Games to be held in Manipur.
VO: Defeating all odds, Sadiya Tariq has reached Imphal from Jammu & Kashmir on Sunday in order to prove that Kashmir is not only a conflict zone, but it too produces sporting talents. The 64th edition of National School Games will be played at Khuman Lampak Sports Stadium in Imphal between November 26 and November 30. A Class 7 student of PC Srinagar School, Sadia Tariq reached Imphal along with 17 other students – 7 girls and 10 boys – to participate in the U-14 category. The event has been organised by Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur under the aegis of School Games Federation of India. A total of 515 players from 22 States and 8 educational institutes are participating in the Games. Sadiya is the lone student from Srinagar who got selected by the Department of Youth Services and Sports to represent her State in U-14 category.

Sadiya’s coaches – Fayaz Ahmad Dar and Mukta Gupta — are very much hopeful that the little star will surely shine as her earlier performances have been wonderful. Sadiya’s parent said it was a proud moment for them that she was representing state at the highest level. They hope that she will perform well and bring laurels to the state.
