Ask authorities to take action
The airfare between New Delhi and Srinagar on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha has skyrocketed as passengers accuse that private airlines have a field day.
Many passengers planning to travel home from New Delhi and other destinations for celebrating Eid said that the flight operators have arbitrarily increased the fare to Srinagar.
“I had to travel home from New Delhi. But when I checked the fare it was over Rs 20,000. So I changed my plan and avoided to travel on the festive and important occasion,” Muzaffar Ahmad, a passenger told from New Delhi.
He said that he checked the airfare on Thursday and Air India flight to Srinagar scheduled for today charged Rs 22000, Vistara Rs 15000 and Go Air Rs 15000.
The passengers said that the authorities should take a note of the “loot” by the flight operators and take action against them. (KNS)
