Army on Sunday appealed youth to shun path of violence and join mainstream for their better tomorrow.
Brigadier Chakorvorty, Commander 01 sector RR appealed youth who indulged in militancy to “shun path of violence and join mainstream for your better tomorrow.”
He appealed the parents to counsel their wards for their better future.
Brigadier Chakorvorty also emphasized that army is always there to help youth and people of Kashmir for making this place healthy and prosperous.
While replying to a query about the security of Amarnath yatris, he said “drills have been intensified and we assure every Yatri is protected.”
Referring to Sathora Tral encounter, he said in this six hour long operation three “Jaish-e-Mohammed” militants were killed.
“Out of three, one was a Pakistani national while as other two were locals of Pulwama and Tral,” he said, adding that “this is huge success for the army as our men had to climb hillocks to reach the encounter site.”
He said that three AK 47 rifles, one UBGl, magazines were recovered from the encounter site. “This operation was a joint exercise and SOG, CRPF assisted army in nice way,” he said. (KNS)
