Resistance leadership including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohamad Yasin Malik were placed under house arrest ahead of a proposed meeting and press conference of the joint resistance camp at office-cum-residence of Syed Ali Geelani in Hyderpora, Srinagar.
Police also placed Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Peer Saif Ullah, Ayaz Akbar, Mohammad Altaf Shah, Raja Meraj u Din, Mohamad Ashraf Laya and Omer Adil Dar under house arrest and sealed Tehreek-e-Hurriyat office.
Hurriyat conference condemned these arbitrary measures, saying these curbs and restrictions are unjustified and illogical.
Terming restrictions as state sponsored terrorism, Hurriyat said that by choking space and strangulating genuine voices, the state authorities are following their fascist dogma, thus creating anarchy in state.
