Three soldiers were killed on Saturday after militants attacked an army convoy on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Pampore town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
The attack took place in the afternoon, when militants, as per reports collected by KNS, came on the motorcycle and fired indiscriminately on the convoy leaving three soldiers dead and several others injured. Soon after the attack the militants fled from the spot, but a massive search operation was underway. It was the second attack in Pampore this year.
Srinagar based PRO Defence Colonel Rajesh Kalia confirmed the killing of three soldiers. “We have launched the search operation,” he said. The attack comes just days few days after two militants were killed in two separate encounters in the valley.
