Secy DMRRR reviews Disaster Preparedness for SANJY

Srinagar: Secretary to Government Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction (DMRRR) Nazim Zai Khan reviewed the Disaster Preparedness measures put in place for conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra, at a high level meeting today.
The meeting was attended by Special Secretary DMRRR, Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and Ganderbal, Joint Director Information Department Kashmir, Nodal Officer SEOC, Deputy Commandant SDRF 1st Bn, Deputy Commandant NDRF 13th Bn, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Kangan & Pahalgam, Deputy Director Fire & Emergency Services Kashmir, Chief Medical Officer Ganderbal & Anantnag, Deputy Director, Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Tehsildar Relief Department, Consultants SDMA and other stakeholders from Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

Secretary DMRRR advised all stakeholders to ensure that all necessary measures are put in place so that Yatries do not face any issues, especially in the event of adverse weather or natural calamity.
He advised ADCs, who are also the CEOs of the District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) to update the Disaster Management Plan for Shri Amarnathji Yatra and update the contact details with geo-locations of all the Officers, especially the Rescue Teams, deployed enroute on both the routes.
Khan advised all the officers to update the resource inventory on the IDRN network of concerned and neighbouring districts.

It was also informed that two days Table Top Exercise and Mock Drill is being organised in coordination with National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) at Baltal and Nunwan, where practical exercises will be conducted at both locations, to test the preparedness to deal with all aspects related to the Yatra.
