Srinagar: Senior BJP leader and senior vice president incharge Sumbal Sonawari constituency Mohd Iqbal has expressed shock over the sad demise of senior journalist Mehraj U Din Wani. The deceased was Editor-in-Chief of daily Srinagar News.
Iqbal termed Wani’s death as a huge loss to the journalism and journalist fraternity.
In his condolence message, Iqbal said that Mehraj U Din Wani was a great, truthful and fearless journalist who devoted his entire life in the sacred profession and upheld the principles of journalism in all situations.
Meanwhile Shri Ravinder Raina President JK (UT) BJP and BJP J&K General Secretary Ashok Koul also expressed shock and grief over the death of Wani and extended condolences with the bereaved family.
“Wani Sahab will be remembered for long for his great services and fearless journalism. His contributions to the journalism in Jammu and Kashmir are immense. Besides being a great journalist, Wani was a great human being too,” Iqbal said.
“His death has left a void in J&K, which is really very difficult to fill in future. I had great relations with him and I knew him closely. I am deeply disturbed by his passing away,” he added.
