Principal Secretary School education visits HSSs, reviews functioning

JAMMU: Principal Secretary, School Education Department, B K Singh, today visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar and Government Higher Secondary School Channi Himmat to review functioning of the institutions.

He was accompanied by Chairperson JKBOSE, Veena Pandita, Director School Education, Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Joint Director, SCERT, Surinder Kumar, CEO Jammu, Suraj Singh Rathore, DIET Principal Jammu, Roshan Lal and other officials of the department.

Principal Secretary inspected the libraries, science laboratories, computer laboratories and class rooms. He took stock of issues being faced by the students and teachers especially in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic.

Singh assured that every effort will be made to help students and teachers get through these difficult times. He asked the teaching community to give their hundred percent to bring the disrupted educational framework back on track. He appreciated the role during the COVID-19 pandemic times.

Chairperson, JKBOSE, said that BOSE is in a continuous process of reassessing and reinventing itself to meet the needs and expectations of the students and their parents. More and more technology is being introduced to make the system fair, transparent, faster and in tune with the times and requirements of the students and other stake holders.

Meanwhile, Director School Education visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School Gole Gujral and inaugurated newly installed CCTV system in the school.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma divulged that the Directorate of School Education Jammu is already in process of repairing, upliftment of buildings and infrastructure along with construction of new buildings where ever needed. He added that 100 percent schools have been provided drinking water and washroom facilities.
