Srinagar: The minimum temperature in most parts of Kashmir Valley continued to drop with mercury settling at minus 10.0 degree Celsius in the tourist resort of Gulmarg and minus 10.9 in Pahalgam on Thursday. Meteorological department office said that Srinagar, the summer capital of Kashmir recorded a minimum of minus 1.3 degree Celsius against the 1.3 degree Celsius which was minus 0.3 degree above normal during this part of the season. The ski resort of Gulmarg showed a slight improvement in temperature and recorded a low of minus 10.0 degree Celsius against minus 10.4 degree Celsius on the previous night. The temperature was -2.5 degree Celsius above normal for this time of the year in the famous resort. Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 10-9 degree Celsius against the minus 5.6 degree Celsius the previous night. Qazigund, on Srinagar-Jammu National highway recorded a low of minus 0.2 degree Celsius against 0.0 degree Celsius on the previous night. Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 4.3 degree Celsius against the minus 2.4 degree Celsius on the previous night. Kupwara town in north Kashmir recorded a low of minus 3.4 degree Celsius against the minus 1.6 degree Celsius on the previous night. UNI QAB ACL1115
