Heavy Snowfall prediction: Emergency equipments distributed at Shopian

SHOPIAN: In a first of its kind in Shopian district and continuing its endeavor to provide every possible help in case of heavy snowfall in the district, the District Administration Shopian today distributed emergency equipments among various Departments/ Tehsil Offices of the district at mini secretariat Arhama, here.

The emergency equipment was distributed among PDD, R&B, MC, Forest, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, PHE and Mechanical engineering etc. They were advised to gear up for any exigency occurring on account of heavy snowfall and road blockade thereof wherein their services may be required.

The equipment were distributed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmed Simnani to render all possible equipment to all concerned departments to mitigate any exigency arising due to the expected snowfall in the coming days.

The Tehsildars of the district and other concerned officers of various departments were provided Long boats, Gloves, Search Lights, Ladders, Sholes and other equipment to facilitate them to face any challenge during the snowfall in the district.

The activities and services of these departments will to a larger extent infuse a sense of volunteerism around and prove a lifeline during natural disasters/exigencies.
