Man dead as load carrier rolls down into stream in J&K’s Ramban

Banihal: The driver of a vehicle died on the spot after it rolled down into a nullah along the Khari – Mahoo link road near Kawna in sub-division Banihal of J&K’s Ramban district on Monday, officials said.

As per officials, the vehicle was on way to Mahoo village when it skidded off the road near Kawna and plunged into Mahoo nullah this afternoon.

Soon after the accident locals , Khari police and army men from nearby Buzla army camp swung into action and started a rescue operation, but found the driver, identified as Shabir Ahmed Gouth, son of Abdul Ghani Gouth, a local from Gadora tehsil Khari, dead on spot in th damaged vehicle, an official told Greater Kashmir.

Police lodged a case under relevant sections at Banihal police station into the incident.
