The Bosnia and Herzegovina ambassador Mr. Sabit Subasic today called on the APHC chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his Nigeen residence. The Bosnian Envoy and Mirwaiz discussed a series of issues and during the course of the discussion, the APHC chairman briefed him about the historical perspective of the Kashmir dispute and the present extreme repressive situation prevailing here.
Mirwaiz explained to the visiting dignitary the immense sacrifices and sufferings that the people of J&K have gone through in the past seventy years in general and last thirty years, in particular for demanding their fundamental right to choose their destiny as guaranteed by the UN.Mirwaiz told the Envoy that the fourth generation of Kashmiris is getting consumed by the raging conflict since 1947, as they are fed up of the repression and status quo and want a resolution.
Mirwaiz said that the because of the Kashmir dispute,which is primarily a political and humanitarian problem the two nuclear powers India and Pakistan who have already fought three wars ,are perpetually at loggerheads and in confrontational mode and the routine border skirmishes between Indian and Pakistani armies are taking a serious toll on innocent humans on both sides of the border. He said
Mirwaiz during his interaction with the Bosnian Envoy made it clear that people of Kashmir and the leadership believe that justice and fairness demands that Kashmir dispute be resolved as per the will and aspirations of its people and this can be done either through granting them the right to self-determination or through sincere and result oriented dialogue among the three parties to the dispute, namely India Pakistan and most importantly people of J&K. Mirwaiz told Mr. Sabit that people of Kashmir of are highly desirous of peace in the subcontinent and friendly relations between the two neighbors as they are the worst sufferers of this conflict. The spokesman said the visiting ambassador empathized with the prevailing situation in the valley.
