Bollywood singer Adnan Sami who performed a musical gala on the banks of the Dal Lake in Srinagar, on Saturday said that music always helps to bridge ties between countries and especially when it comes to India and Pakistan.
Sami told, “Music has always played a very integral part in people-to-people contact, love and affection. Music has always helped in bridging both countries, and, I think, these concerts should take place frequently.”
He further thanked the Jammu and Kashmir Government for taking such “great initiative”.
“Well, music has indeed no boundaries. Music only knows one language. Apart from being universal, it has the language of love and peace. So, I think, it’s wonderful that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir have taken this initiative,” he said.
Talking about Kashmir’s tourism, the singer averred that people from all over the world should come and avail this pleasure of divine beauty that God has bestowed upon earth.
“You know the most important thing of this entire endeavour is to promote tourism. I think people from all over the world should come and avail this pleasure this divine beauty that God has bestowed upon this earth, which is truly a heaven on earth. I think people of the world should not only see the beauty that Kashmir possesses, but also the love and hospitality that the people of Kashmir have,” he noted.
“I hope this is the beginning of many such concerts, because there is no beautiful language other than the language of music to speak of love and harmony,” he added.
The ‘Rhythm in Paradise’ concert was held in the lawns of the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC).
