Scores of photojournalists on Wednesday staged a protest and demanded release of their colleague Kamran Yousuf from NIA custody.
The photojournalists today assembled at press colony in Srinagar and demanded release of Kamran Yousuf who was associated with Greater Kashmir newspaper. Kamran was arrested by NIA yesterday and was accused of being ring leader of stone-pelters. Another youth from Kulgam was also arrested with Kamran.
The protesting photographers were holding placards and banners which read “Kamran is a photojournalist, not a stone pelter” and “Free Kamran Yousef”. They claimed that he was arrested for discharging professional duties with utmost honesty and for presenting facts in terms of videos and photographs. The photojournalists sought intervention of State government into the matter and appealed for Kamran’s release. (GNS)
