Scores of Casual labours and need base employees of forest department on Tuesday staged protest against the government for ‘failing to address the woes of teachers’.
The casual labours and need base employees assembled at Srinagar’s Press Enclave and chanted slogans like ‘we want justice’.
The protesters said that the authorities have failed to release their wages from last five months.
Talking to media persons, they said that the government has failed to release their wages from past seven months thereby resulted in the hardships to the people of Kashmir.
“The government has left the hundreds of families of Casual labours and need base employees on god’s mercy on Eid eve. We are also not able to pay fees of our wards,” they said.
The protesting labours and need base employees said that the government should release the wages immediately so that the people here could feel a sigh of relief.
They appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the matter and fulfil their demands at earliest.
Meanwhile, the protesters later dispersed peacefully. (KNS)
