Shortly after the Yashwant Sinha led group of citizens wound up its third visit to Kashmir on Saturday, another team landed in Srinagar with an objective of bridging gaps between Srinagar and New Delhi.
Comprising well known journalist Shahid Siddiqui, West Asia expert Qamar Agha, Justice (rtd) I M Quddusi and Dr M J Khan Chairman Indian Council of Food and Agriculture, the team has been meeting several groups representing different shades and the opinion in the society.
We has learnt that the team visited Anantnag today to listen to the various stake holders.
The team is headed by Dr Khan.
In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech of August 15, Dr Khan told that PM’s speech has infused confidence among them about something positive coming vis-a-vis Jammu Kashmir.
“We don’t represent the government nor have we come for the government,” Dr Khan told Rising Kashmir.
He said that the objective of the visit was to talk to cross section of people and understand the current situation.
We learnt that the delegation is trying to establish contact with the Hurriyat leaders as well.
One of the members of the team told that, “We are meeting everyone and are open to listen to everybody.”
On Saturday a group led by former Foreign Minister Yashwant Sinha concluded its third visit.
