Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik Saturday expressed his heartfelt grief and sorrow over the demise of Sarwa Begum who was the aunt of JKLF leader Siraj-u-din Mir and breathed her last today. Deceased was also maternal aunt of Siraj.
Malik according to the statement issued has also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family of Ghulam Nabi Sheikh of Watergam Rafiabad who was the mother of a JKLF martyr Mushtaq Ahmad sheikh.
JKLF chairman while expressing his heartfelt grief said that the both deceased and their families sacrificed a lot during the freedom struggle and today when they are no more today we pray for their heavenly abode.
Malik also prayed for the patience of their bereaved families. JKLF zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt along with Syed Nisar Jeelani, Farooq Dar and Khizar Muhammad visited the bereaved family of deceased Sarwa Begum and expressed solidarity with them.
Another JKLF delegation comprising of JKLF zonal secretary Farooq Ahmad Dar and Abdul Rashid Mir visited the bereaved family of deceased Ghulam Nabi Sheikh and expressed solidarity with them.
Meanwhile, JKLF has strongly condemned the ongoing spree of arrests and other oppressive tactics employed by police and forces throughout the valley.
JKLF spokesman said that police has arrested many innocent youths including Shakil Ahmad Khan, Fayaz Ahmad Yatoo, Shayus Mushtaq Yatoo, Aquib Rashid Sofi, Shabir Ahmad Yatoo, Irfan Ahmad Yatoo and Muhammad Rajab from Hayatpora Chadoora and from last many days these boys and their families are being humiliated and terrorized.
Spokesman said that throughout valley school, college and Madrasa going students are being tortured and ‘terrorized’ by Indian forces and situation has turned very ugly. “Yesterday terrorists in uniform raided and tortured students of a Madrasa at Shupain and tortured intimidated and threatened students and teachers and even today same was done at polytechnic college Gogji-bagh, which is highly condemnable,” the spokesman said.
