The resistance leaders including Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik called for shutdown in poll-bound areas on April 13.
“We hope people in their befitting reply will reject this drama once again and boycott these elections with same spirit as witnessed on Apr 09,” said resistance leaders in a statement issued.
“State administration has turned poll bound areas into a military garrison but our people are brave enough and with their exemplary strength and resolve will once again reject these shame elections,” they said.
“Re-polling is one more deceit being orchestrated by puppet regime and main motive behind re-polling in poll bound areas is to increase the voting percentage through rigging and by using bogus voters,” leadership added.
Commenting over the news published in local newspapers, the resistance leaders said that they have called a public gathering in Budgam on April 14 and people while reaffirming their faith (Tajdeed-e-Uhad) with movement will offer their condolences with bereaved families of slain youth.
They said that people through poll boycott conveyed that they are sensitive and mature enough for their political struggle. “It will support our case and prove positive for ongoing struggle against occupation. We are sure it will impress international community & compel them to take notice of present development and will also shake conscience of people in India,” said resistance leaders.
