The fierce gun fight in Durbugh village of Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district leaves three dead including a militant and several injured today on Tuesday.
The gunfight which lasted for several hours erupted at around 6 am today in Durbugh village after forces cordoned off the area following inputs about the presence of militants.
Officials said that a militant was killed and a army personnel was injured in the gunfight. Meanwhile reports said that a dozen of civilians were injured who were protesting near the encounter site. Two civillians also lost their lives after they were hit by a bullet.
Reports said that the situation turns violent when huge number of people marched towards the encounter site, pelted stones on security forces.
The civillians killed were identified as Aamir Fayaz Waza of Wathoora and Zahid Rashid Ganaie, Ashfaq Ahmad, of Rangret. Reports said that all the civillians hit by bullet at encounter site during a protest were immediately rushed to the Srinagar’s SMHS hospital where they succumb to injuries.
Reports added that the security forces used Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to blast the house where the militants were holed during a gunfight.
