Traffic Police, Oppo-Cell Air Networks organize motorcycle rally
The Annual Motorcycle Rally for Safety Awareness 2017 was organized by Traffic Police City Srinagar in association with Oppo Cell Air Networks,
The Motorcycle Rally is an annual event organized by Traffic Police to emphasize on the safety measures to be taken by two-wheeler riders, and as an effort towards minimizing the road accidents and also to ensure the safety of pedestrians.
The Rally was flagged off by the Chief Guest Muhammad Maqbool Gojree, father of a recent road accident victim motorcyclist, Basit Maqbool at Qamarwari.
The rally was kicked off from the Traffic Police Office City Srinagar in the presence of Baseer Khan-Div Com Kashmir Baseer Khan, SJM Gillani IGP Kashmir, Jagjit Kumar IGP Traffic Kashmir, Ravideep S. Sahi IGP CRPF, Ghulam Hassan Bhat DIG CKR, Imtiyaz Ismail SSP Srinagar, Sargun Shukla SSP Traffic City, Maqsood-ul-Zaman SSP Security Kashmir, Sajad Shah SP Traffic City and Tofail Khan co-organizer.
The huge cavalcade of two-wheelers in an extremely disciplined formation of batches drove from Traffic Police office via Dalgate, Boulevard, Lalit, Gupkar, TRC and concluded back at the Traffic Police Office City Srinagar.
While speaking on the occasion Baseer Khan appreciated the effort put in to emphasize on the safety of youth and pedestrians on the roads and appreciated the cause behind the rally.
IGP Kashmir while addressing the riders said that the safety of the riders is the prime concern and need of the hour. He congratulated the youth for coming forward together to generate awareness on road safety.
IGP Traffic said that the rising rate of accidents is the prime concern in Traffic Management and such incidents can only be reduced with the efforts and support of the people and youth in particular. He applauded the efforts of the traffic department along-with the other organizers and sponsors.
DIG CKR, G M Bhat, congratulated the Traffic department and all the participants for a huge turnout to address the concern of on-road safety and emphasized on combined efforts to raise and address the social concerns.
Tofail Khan an avid biker and co-organizer of the rally thanked the traffic department for holding events aimed at making the roads safer by simply driving in accordance with the traffic norms to help save precious lives.
Later SSP Traffic City Srinagar Sargun Shukla thanked all the participants and emphasized that the endeavor of the event was to involve the youth in the safe driving campaign of the traffic police and to minimize causalities due to road traffic accidents. (KNS)
