MLAs upset with casual attitude of ministers, to their demands
As the legislators from Jammu district are not happy over casual attitude of the bureaucracy in responding to their demands being raised by them in the District Development Board (DDB) meetings, resentment is also brewing among them against Party ministers for not taking them in confidence in crucial decision makings.
Sources told KNS that the BJP legislators are annoyed over casual attitude of the ministers including some of the seniors in responding to their demands being raised by them in the District Development Board (DDB) meetings. Party insiders say that demand is growing to hand out punishments to those leaders who are not performing well.
Last week legislators from Jammu district sought to draw the attention of the Chief Minister towards the decisions taken in the last DDB meeting which were not implemented. “Bureaucrats are not taking legislators seriously. The process to implement a number of decisions taken in the earlier DDB meetings is yet to start,” a legislator who wished not to be named said.
He said that the MLAs have complained to Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti that they are not being attended to properly by some ministers to get their works done. “The legislators have also complained that many HoDs and senior officials were not even attending their calls and as a result of which they could not get the development works done in their respective constituencies,” he said.
One of the MLA’s on condition of anonymity told that there is a feeling among MLAs that the ministers who hold portfolios of various departments, were not giving importance to them and their recommendations. “Some ministers in the coalition government have miserably failed to address issues repeatedly being raised by the MLAs. This was the only reason we decides to take up the issue with the Chief Minister,” the MLA said.
He said that if the ministers will not change their attitude, they will knock the door of party high command. “Jammu People had reposed their trust in us and voted enmass in favour of us. So it is our duty to ensure there is no breach in the trust,” the MLA maintained.
Meanwhile sources said that the BJP’s National general secretary, Ram Madhav, is visiting the state to seek a feedback from the party workers and other functionaries on the functioning of the coalition government and performance of party ministers. “After receiving feedback from Madhav, the party chief Amit Shah is reviewing the performance of all BJP ministers, said sources.
