Police claims to have arrested a militant of Hizb-ul-Mujahedin from Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
The arrested militant has been identified as Bilal Ahmed who belongs to Hizb-ul-Mujahedin militant outfit. Police said that the said that the militant was captured following a tip off in Palpora village of Pulwama by the members of its counterinsurgency Special Operations Group (SOG) who were assisted by Army’s Rashtriya Rifles and the CRPF in the operation launched early Thursday morning.The arrested militant has been taken to an interrogation centre, the police sources said.
The said person had recently joined the militant ranks of HM outfit and was active in the general area of Awantipora and Pulwama. He was in close contact with HM commanders Zakir@ Musa and Reyaz Naikoo @ Zubair ul Islam. A case FIR number 24/2017 under section 20/38 ULA Act and 7/25 Arms Act has been registered against him in Police Station Awantipora and investigation was taken up. More recoveries and arrests are expected.(PTK)
