Express concern over detention of ailing Hurriyat leaders.
On the completion of 26 years of Kunan Poshpora tragedy, Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani said that this heart wrenching incident is a living proof of the State terrorism and fascism of India in Kashmir and it can be assumed that how-grave war crimes are committed by the Indian occupational forces in Jammu & Kashmir. In his appeal to UN Secretary General to conduct the investigation in Kunan Poshpora incident and other like incidents in Indian occupied Kashmir by the United Nations War Crime Tribunal like this world institution did in Bosnia.
In a statement issued to KNS, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his grief that even after the 26 years of the inhuman and beastly act in Kunan-Poshpora, there is still no case registered against accused and nor has been any involved army officer or personal arrested or brought to book.
This episode is deliberately tried to hush-up and for this not only the occupational forces of India are creating hurdles but the successive state governments including NC and PDP have also played a criminal role in this regard and till date they have never made any sincere attempt to register any case against culprits.
Syed Ali Geelani said that whether it was NC, Congress or the PDP in the power, everybody tried to conceal the Kunan-Poshpora incident.
Meanwhile, Hurriyat Conference (G) has strongly condemned the implication of Ab Wahid Mir (Onagam) in false cases and said that the state high court should take suo motu cognizance and deliver justice. The said detainee since last one year is not being produced in any court, said Hurriyat.
He is innocent, said Hurriyat (G) and terming his detention as vengeance, Huriyat said that police is desperate to implicate him in a murder case.
According to a statement, Hurriyat (G) said that Ab Wahid Mir was arrested on April 6 in 2016 in court premises. He since last ten months is languishing in central jail Srinagar and was never produced before any court.
Hurriyat in its statement said that Police has framed a charge sheet under section 302 and implicating him in a murder case on false grounds, however refuting the charges, Hurriyat while terming it as brazen lie, said that for this reason authorities are not producing him before any court. He is in unlawful custody, said Hurriyat and police authorities are trying to prolong his detention without assigning any reason.
Hurriyat Conference (G) said that Judiciary is thought of as the last resort for justice & it is obligatory for judicial institutions to deliver justice without any discrimination. Court should take suo motu action where ever judiciary feels that convicts are not able to approach judicial institutions & seek justice on its own.
Hurriyat conference expressed its deep concern over the continuous detention of elderly and ailing leader Gh Mohammad Khan Sopori & said that he is suffering from multiple ailments and continuous detention can prove detrimental for his health. Hurriyat (G) warned State administration and said if anything happens to ailing leader, administration will be held responsible.
Khan Sopori was arrested in Sopor on the martyrdom anniversary of Gh Mohd Bula and since then is lodged in police lockup. Strongly condemning police, Hurriyat said that authorities are not taking care of his deteriorating health.
Blaming authorities for their highhandedness, Hurriyat Conference (G) said that they have turned state into a big jail and fundamental rights are being trampled and innocents jailed for months without assigning any reason. (KNS)
