Takes stock of farms at Samba
Minister for Forest, Environment and Ecology, Choudhary Lal Singh today visited Sheerai Chak area in Samba area to take stock of the potato farms.
The Minister while taking stock of the potato farms in Samba area said that farmers should be trained and potato farms must be developed on modern lines. He said that State’s unique culture with farmers coming ahead to contribute in states economy brings positive changes at the grassroots.
Speaking to the farmers, the Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is a unique place with the equally unique fertile land mass available in different regions of the State, including Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.
“We have a huge potential in potato farming and Government is doing every bit to help the farming community of the State,” he said.
“I was very happy to learn that this area has started to grow in horticulture and we must appreciate the farmers for their efforts to help the State’s economy to grow,” he said.
