SSP Traffic City Srinagar, Sargun Shukla on Saturday convened a meeting of the media personnel of local dailies in the Conference Hall at TPO City Srinagar.
According to the statement, the SSP Traffic City Srinagar emphasized on the need for co-operation from all stakeholders with particular reference to media for delineation of priorities and imperatives in order to streamline traffic in City Srinagar.
She stressed upon the media to garner solutions to traffic problems faced by the commuters and raise public opinion about both avoidable ignorance and arrogance that put thousands of road users to delays and dangers.
Shukla deliberated threadbare with the media personnel to the queries posed to her on various issues including wrong car parking, overloading in PSVs, road encroachments, defunct traffic signal lights, red light jumping, special corridors for Hospital referrals and Fire tenders et. al. and stressed on the importance of cooperation from all stakeholders.
She also spoke about the need for the media to help bring in a positive behavioral change in the commuters, vendors, pedestrians, public service operators, shopkeepers including allied departments concerned with the management of traffic in City Srinagar with a missionary zeal.
SSP Traffic later thanked the media for their response and resolved to make Srinagar City a safe destination for road users with their active cooperation. (KNS)
