A day after the former revenue minister Syed Basharat Bukhari resigned from the cabinet, the ruling PDP camp witnessed marathon meetings with top PDP leadership visiting disgruntled Bukhari at his Srinagar to resolve the crises.
Sources within the PDP divulged that on Saturday, a top group of PDP leaders that include party vice president Sartaj Madani, senior leaders Rafi Ahmad Mir and several others visited Basharat Bukhari at latter’s residence in Srinagar- trying to persuade him to rethink about the resignation decision. It was divulged that a closed door meetings between the senior PDP leaders and Basharat Bukhari lasted for several others behind the closed doors. “The meeting primarily focused to pacify the aggrieved Bukhari so that he could re-think about the decision of bidding adieu to the state cabinet in a jiffy,” sources privy to the development told KNS.
It was informed further that though the meeting didn’t end at any conclusive note however the party leadership is likely to persuade Bukhari to settle things amicably.
Bukhari- a senior minister in Mehbooba led cabinet of Jammu and Kashmir Friday resigned from his post as the chief minister went for a cabinet revamp along with re-induction of MLA Amira Kadal Syed Altaf Bukhari. Syed Basharat Bukhari who was the revenue minister was accorded the portfolio of Horticulture. Reportedly, aggrieved over the change in portfolio, Bukhari officially sent resignation to the chief minister. (KNS)
