Says if anything untoward happens to activist, administration will be held responsible
Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Saturday expressed grave concern about the reported worsening health conditions of Tehreek-e-Huriyat activist Ab Rehman Tantrey and said that if anything untoward happens to ailing activist, the administration will be held responsible.
Syed Ali Geelani while referring to continuous detention of pro- freedom leaders including Mir Hafeez Ullah, Mohamad Yusuf Falahi, Mohammad Shaban Dar, Raies Ahmad Mir, Master Ali Mohammad, Ab Ahad Para, Mohammad Amin Ganai, Mushtaq Ahmad Hura, Mohamad Amin Raina, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Bashir Ahmad Boya, Gh Mohammad lone, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Shakir Ahmad Mir, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Ab Khaliq Regu and several others, said that detainees in Jammu jails are subjected to vengeance.
They are being provided with sub- standard food and medical needs of these detainees within the prison system have been neglected. Both political and criminal are treated with same yard stick and no system of segregation exists, said Geelani.
Syed Ali Geelani expressed his dismay over snail’s pace process in judiciary and said state administration is subjecting them to political reprisal and on the pretext of preventive detention prisoners are detained in jails.
Blaming judiciary for their partiality, Syed Ali Geelani said they are helping as a tool for state administration and are following and favouring directives from state machinery.
Hurriyat (G) chairman expressed his concern and anguish over the silence maintained by international organisations and said they are not taking any serious note of this lawlessness.
Meanwhile, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his deep grief over the demise of Mohammad Yusuf Shah (Chogal Handwara) & Ab Kabir Dar (Spore) and said both had very close relations with him.
Meanwhile on the directions of Syed Ali Geelani, a deputation comprising of Ab Hamid Magrey, Syed Zahoor ul Haq and Peer Saif ullah participated in funeral prayers late Mohammad Yusuf Shah.
Syed Ali Geelani in his condolence message said that Late Ab Kabir Dar was an intellectual and a prominent personality of his area. He was an ardent supporter of freedom movement, said Syed Ali Geelani. Recalling his services for movement, Syed Ali Geelani said that one of his son embraced martyrdom during ongoing freedom movement.
Geelani while condoling the bereaved family and his son Professor Mushtaq Ahmad Dar, prayed for departed soul and family to bear this irreparable loss. (KNS)
