Blames State Centre for deteriorating situation
District Congress Committee, Srinagar today held a meeting of senior party functionaries of PCC, DCC, Block Presidents, contesting candidates to review the overall socio political scenario obtaining in the State.
Reacting to the Panchayat Elections in the State, the meeting, threadbare, discussed the delimitation of wards being undertaken by the RDD and termed it as an arbitrary, unfair and a ploy to take benefit out of the process on the part of Coalition Govt and condemned the PDP BJP coalition for this undemocratic move.
The Speakers also expressed serious concern over the deteriorating security scenario in the valley and described it as a failure and mismanagement. The meeting blamed the State Govt for mishandling the situation, from time to time, as a result, the situation is worsening day by day.
The meeting also took strong note of the failures of the PDP BJP Coalition on all fronts, as a result the genuine concerns of the people have remained unresolved and there seems to be no end to the miseries confronting people.
The meeting lashed out at Centre Govt for adopting wrong approach towards the State and urged upon the State and Centre to change it’s attitude towards the State.
Emphasizing the need for taking effective measures to address the genuine concerns of the people, the meeting resolved that Congress Part will continue to fight against discrimination with the people and will make the Govt accountable and answerable to people.
Hailing the Statement of Leader of Opposition Gulam Nabi Azad on Army Chief’s utterances on valley situation, the meeting urged upon the Centre Govt to stop using the Country’s prestigious Institution (Indian Army) for political benefit.
The meeting also urged the BJP Leadership to stop releasing irritating Statements on Kashmir Situation for poll benefit, as it will further vitiate the atmosphere in the valley, which is fraught with dangerous consequences, ahead. (KNS)
