Asks administration to take immediate relief, rehabilitation measures
Former minister and MLA Amirakadal Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari has expressed deep shock and grief over the death of a young girl and huge damages caused to a three-story residential house in a devastating fire incident at Mehjoor Nagar today.
Bukhari asked the administration to take immediate steps for providing relief and rehabilitation to the affected family.
Extending heartfelt condolences to Darshan Singh who lost his daughter Roshni Kour, 24, in the unfortunate incident, the former minister asked deputy commissioner Srinagar to depute a team of revenue officers to assess the losses suffered by the affected family and disburse compensation accordingly.
The MLA Amirakadal expressed solidarity with the fire hit family and assured it of every possible help in its rehabilitation. “My heart goes out for this family that is face to face with immense sufferings due to this fire incident. I extend my deepest solidarity and sympathies with this family for the demise of its daughter. May her soul rest in peace,” Bukhari said in a condolence message issued to the press.
Expressing deep anguish over the apparent cause of fire incident, Bukhari appealed inhabitants of the locality to safeguard their lives and property by taking precautionary measures advised by the power department. “We should take precautions and prevent short circuits in our homes, shops and business establishments because most often these short circuits have proven disastrous,” he said.
The MLA Amirakadal also directed PDD officials to replace the low tension conductor wires with insulated aerial bunched cables wherever required in the area in order to minimize the damages in any such mishap in the future. (PTK)
