Death toll reaches 8.
A civilian injured during clashes near an encounter site in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district succumb to injuries at District Hospital Anantnag on Sunday, police officer said.
Confirming the death of another civilian Director General of Police J&K S P Vaid told that, “unfortunately another civilian has succumbed, who was injured in clashes today.”
The deceased was identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Itoo, 22, son of Mohammad Ibrahim Itoo, resident of Hatigam village of Srigufwara Bijbehara.
Four militants, two soldiers and a civilian had already died in the gunfight in Frisal village of Kulgam district earlier today, triggering protests and clashes.
Earlier, one civilian was killed in the encounter. He is believed to be the house owner in whose house the militants were hiding. After the encounter was over, there were widespread clashes in the belt.

He said both the injured have received bullet injures in lower parts of the body. The injured are under surgery and condition is stable.
