AKTO holds seminar, road show on Kashmir tourism at Raipur

Series of road shows aimed at winning trust of travelers: Mahmood Shah

Association of Kashmir Tour Operators (AKTO) today organized Tourism Promotional Seminar at Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Director Tourism Kashmir, Mahmood A Shah who was the chief guest on the occasion said that Raipur has emerged as industrial hub of the state with many steel plants and auxiliary industries. “Raipur offers high potential of travelers and tourists and as such becomes an important market for flourishing Kashmir tourism”, he added.

The Director said the aim of these road shows is to infuse confidence and strengthen relationships with tourists to boost travel trade.

         To attract more tourists towards Kashmir, the Department of Tourism in collaboration with AKTO is organizing road show at Raipur for second consecutive year.

            Director SKICC Srinagar, Yasmeen Khan and Deputy Director Tourism, Publicity, Kashmir Peerzada Zahoor were also the members of official delegation.

President, Chamber of Commerce Raipur, Amar Tarwaine was the Guest of Honor on the occasion. During his address he said that J&K is the land of picturesque landscape and virgin beauty.

Chairman AKTO, Nazir Mir said Raipur is a promising market which is being explored through regular seminars and road shows on Kashmir Tourism.

Earlier, AKTO has successfully organized road shows at West Bengal and Bangladesh.

            The seminars and road shows are being organized across the country by Department of Tourism, J&K in collaboration with various agencies including recent shows by Houseboat Owners at Lucknow, Travel Agents Society of Kashmir at Nagpur, J&K Tourism Alliance at Chennai, J&K Hoteliers Club at Jaipur and Tourist Trade Interest Guild at Cochin.

The department will also participate in upcoming Road Shows in Indore, Ahmadabad, Rajkote, Mumbai and New Delhi besides participating in Travel Trade Fairs like SATTE.
