Deputy Commissioner, Niraj Kumar today launched a mobile van with an aim to raise awareness among the people about Leprosy.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that awareness about the disease will remove myths and misconceptions associated with the disease and stressed on ensuring proper timely treatment to the patients.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Chander Prakash informed that free of cost treatment of the disease is being made available at all the health centres in the district. He further directed all the field functionaries to conduct door to door survey so that the infected person can be given treatment well on time.
ADDC Arvind Sharma, CPO Rakesh Jamwal, ACD Om Prakash, ACR Subhash Chander Dogra, Principal Government PG College Boys, S.S. Bhalwal, DPO Sandeep Seointra, Superintendent, District Hospital Dr. Narinder Bhatyal, ASHAs, AWWs and large number of students from various education institutions attended the programme.
