Minister of State for Transport, Revenue, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Sunil Sharma, today chaired an officers meeting to review status of snow clearance, power supply and other essential services in district Kishtwar.
District Development Commissioner, Ghulam Nabi Balwan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kishori Lal, Chief Planning Officer, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Engineers R&B, PHE and PDD besides other district officers were present in the meeting.
The Minister reviewed the present status of all the roads connecting adjoining villages to the district headquarters and directed the concerned to clear snow and other obstacles from the roads.
The officers informed the Minister that almost all the link roads have been opened for traffic while work on other roads is in full swing and are expected to be cleared by tomorrow.
Assessing the status of electricity restoration in the district, the Minister was informed that majority of the damaged transformers have been replaced. Almost 80% of electricity is restored and rest shall be done within one or two days, informed the officers.
Regarding availability of ration, Assistant Director Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs informed that sufficient stock is available in all the stores across the district. He said ration up to the month of May 2017 has been stocked while the ration upto March 2017 has already been distributed among the public.
The Minister asked the concerned to keep available adequate stock of gas and kerosene oil in the district and ensure that the fuel is distributed among the public in a hassle free manner.
The DDC informed the Minister that in view of the prevailing bad weather conditions a Disaster Management Committees have been framed at district as well as tehsil levels to monitor the situation regularly.
The Minister directed all the district officers not to leave the station and be ready with men and machinery to meet the emergency requirements.
