Hurriyat (G) condemns, terms it as ‘egoistic behavior’.
Hurriyat (G) on Friday strongly condemning the ‘autocratic and egoistic behavior’ of state authorities said that the party chairman, Syed Ali Geelani was again barred from offering Friday prayers.
Hurriyat (G) in a statement ,said that since last four years, Geelani continues to be under house arrest and the situation remained unchanged as he is not being allowed to offer religious obligation.
Denouncing state administration, Hurriyat (G) said there is no legal, moral or constitutional justification for laying curbs on religious obligations.
Spokesman Ayaz Akbar while condemning these restrictions said that a large contingent of police has been deployed outside residence of Syed Ali Geelani and it is evident that administration has no intentions to lift these restrictions.
Referring to court orders, Hurriyat (G) said that Court in its verdict declared these curbs as illegal and unethical, despite this administration while defying all orders are not allowing him to venture out of his residence.
Spokesman condemned the continuous detention of Master Ali Mohammad, Gh Mohammad Tantray, Haji Gh Mohammad, Mohamad Rustum Bhat, Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Bashir Ahmad Sofi, Ab Khaliq Regu, Shakeel Ahmad Bhat, Manzoor Ahmad Bhagat, Shakir Ahmad Mir, Shakeel Ahmad Yatoo, Nazir Ahmad Mantoo, Javed Ahmad Faley, Mohammad Amin Parey, Mohammad Yusuf Bhat, Showkat Ahmad Dar, Mohamad Shafi Khan, Mushtaq Ahmad Khandey and Ab Majid Rather and said that administration is harassing and subjecting them to vengeance and despite court orders not relieving them.
“Court in its orders though bailing out these detainees are not being released and instead lodged in police stations and torture centres,” the spokesman said.
Ridiculing the statements of Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti wherein she claimed that those bailed out by court won’t be re -arrested. “It is a brazen lie,” said spokesman, adding that “her statement about detainees is deceptive and misleading.”
Hurriyat (G) in its appeal to ICRC, Red Cross and international organizations of Human Rights impressed to take cognizance of detainees and use its influence for their release. (KNS)
