With just two weeks to go for school exams, the authorities seem to be indecisive about announcing the curtailment in syllabus. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has already notified the exam centres for Class X and XII. The exams are scheduled to take place in the second week of November. However, there is no talk about the promised curtailment in the syllabus yet. “The Chief Minister said students will be given relaxation in syllabus and the Education Minister said the same but when will it be given.
“Only 14 days are left for exams and we are in great stress and depression. We don’t know what to do. No conducive atmosphere for study and exams . The government is taking us for a ride”.
The exams of the class are scheduled to start from November 14. The students are opposing the exams due to the ongoing unrest in Kashmir, which has seen no break for the last 113 days. The schools and colleges continue to remain shut due to the prevailing unrest. A PIL filed by a group of students for the deferment of exams has also been dismissed by the JK High Court.
The government has categorically refused to fulfil the demand of delaying exams till March. They have also increased the dilemma of the students as they have not come up clear regarding relaxations in syllabus yet. “We are in the process and we will make the curtailment of syllabus public within,” said Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE), Zahoor Ahmad Chatt. But almost 4 days have passed but yet no info abt it. Don’t knw when their 2 days r goin to end..
