‘Even curfew passes issued by the district magistrate are not accepted’
Three Radio Kashmir employees were beaten by forces on Thursday while they were on way to home from office.
Markazi Idara Radio Kashmir employees union said that three employees- Zahoor Ahmad, Zubair Qureshi and Irfan Ahmad- were beaten by the police and CRPF on Thursday.
The union said that the employees were on office work when the forces beat them.
“The employees have curfew passes issued by the district magistrate and ID proofs but yet they were beaten. And the passes are not accepted. One of the employees was in an office can, but it was stopped till1.30 pm in the night and was not allowed to move ahead,” it said, condemning the “inhuman acts”.
Zubair was beaten outside Radio Kashmir Office, Zahoor near BSNL Exchange and Irfan near Abdullah bridge.
The union has appealed to the government to direct the forces to stop beating their employees. “How can we work in such a fearful situation if the forces continue to beat us,” the union said.
The union has complained to the Inspector general of Police Kashmir about the beating of their employees.
“IGP assured us that such incidents would not happen in future,” the union said. (KNS)
