‘Army will assist police to bring peace, Burhan op wasn’t staged encounter’
Lt Gen DS Hooda, who heads the Northern Army Command Army today said Army will assist the police and other Para-military forces to restore normalcy in Kashmir where vicious protests have been continuing July 8.
Addressing a press conference here he said while army will take control of major roads, he said it is the high time to talk to all the stakeholders even the separatists as they have been also a party in the ongoing protests as they have been issuing protest calendars.
Hooda assured enquiry into the Khrew incident saying such incidents aren’t sanctioned and won’t be tolerated anymore.
The army commander said that such incidents won’t be tolerated and there is absolutely so sanction on such actions.
Terming the operation in which militant commander Burhan Wani was killed, Hooda said the operation was not a staged encounter. But added they had no information about Wani’s presence.
