The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the exhumation of the body of Tengpora youth allegedly killed by a police officer in cold blood.
While ordering the exhumation, the apex court asked the authorities to present the autopsy report within three weeks.
Earlier, District Magistrate Srinagar had ordered the exhumation of deceased youth Shabir Ahmad Mir’s body.
Mir’s family has alleged that he was shot dead by a DySP rank cop at point blank range at the family’s home on July 10.
Police, on the other hand, have claimed that Mir was taking part in a protest rally following the killing of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
